Help lead the fight to cut the US correctional population in half by 2030 and apply for the Leading with Conviction training program today!
JustLeadershipUSA believes that America’s most challenging barrier to expansive, systemic criminal and juvenile justice reform is the absence of clear and consistent leadership by those who have been directly affected by our failed criminal justice policies.
Leading with Conviction (LwC) is an advanced leadership training specifically tailored for leaders directly impacted by the criminal justice or youth justice system — anyone who has been incarcerated or under supervision, in the criminal or juvenile justice systems or has a family member who fits the aforementioned criteria, mid-senior level leaders with a specific and proven track record in advocacy, activism and community organizing. We are interested in advocates, skilled trainers, facilitators, and coaches.
In 2020, JLUSA will expand its investment in leaders by concentrating in the Midwest through its first ever Regional Leading with Conviction program, which will include applicants from several states, including Wisconsin.
Both the regional and national Leading with Conviction programs are cohort based, 12-month opportunity for leaders from the region around the country. LwC takes place both in-person and remotely through four in-person forums (regional city is TBD), six webinars, executive coaching, peer coaching, and regular digital communication.
All LwC trainings benefit leaders by introducing them to the people and practices closely linked to successful community and regional criminal justice advocacy efforts, enabling them to take on greater challenges and to generate quantifiable impact in their work. JLUSA Fellows maintain full-time jobs while successfully completing the JLUSA LwC training.
